چکیده

Abstract Aluminium alloys (AA) are ubiquitous materials in manufacturing used powder bed fusion (PBF) processes due to light weight, high strength and corrosion resistance. Current research focuses on other whilst additively manufactured AA 7050 remains unexplored. This paper examines the formability of 7050-T7451 for Selective Laser Melting (SLM) process. To define this material Simufact AdditiveTM creep behaviour required flow curves obtained by writing a MATLAB® script calculate true stress–strain depending strain rate temperature. The results mechanical calibration aluminium alloy presented obtain its inherent strains. Graphical abstract

Introduction to the Additive Manufacturing Powder Metallurgy Supply Chain

The supply chain for metal powders used in additive manufacturing (AM) is currently experiencing exponential growth and with this growth come new powder suppliers, new powder manufacturing methods and increased competition. The high number of potential supply chain options provides AM service providers with a significant challenge when making decisions on powder procurement. This paper provides...

Residual Stress in Metal Parts Produced by Powder-Bed Additive Manufacturing Processes

In this study, residual stresses from the electron beam additive manufacturing (EBAM) and selective laser melting (SLM) processes, due to repeated thermal cycles, were investigated. Residual stresses play a crucial role in part performance, and thus, it is critical to evaluate the process-induced residual stresses in AM parts. Ti-6Al-4V and Inconel 718 parts produced by EBAM and SLM, respective...

Additive Manufacturing of Casting Tools Using Powder- Binder-Jetting Technology

This chapter presents the use of the additive manufacturing (AM) method powderbinder-jetting (PBJ) for the generation of molds and cores for casting applications. Theoretical information on process steps and the binding of particles is given. For the based chemistry, examples are presented and the transfer from conventional produc‐ tion processes to powder-binder-jetting is explained. For sand ...
